Kindergarten Here We Come

Today was Peyton's last day of Preschool. I was a little surprised that her preschool did not have a graduation but instead had a Circus Party for the kids where they received a graduation certificate. Peyton had fun anyways and I am guessing it was because they had a big Christmas program instead of doing a big graduation one.

I want to take a minute to brag a little bit. I have been so impressed with Learning Dynamics Preschool. I thought Peyton was a smarty pants before she started there this year, but WOW I can't believe how much more she has learned. They have done such a great job. It amazes me how their little minds can absorb so much. She has learned math, how to tell time a litte, the months of the year, her writing and drawing skills are great, and she is reading awesome. When she is done reading the remainder of her books this summer, she will be reading at a 2nd grade level going into Kindergarten. All I can say is WOW and that I hope Houston is where she is when he starts Kindergarten.

Peyton is really excited for Kindergarten but mostly excited to ride the bus :). The other day we went for a drive and took her by her new elementary school. It made her really excited and that's all she has talked about since then.

Ultimate Dance Etc. Recital

On Saturday, May 22nd, Peyton and her team danced at a recital put on by Ultimate Dance Etc. at Willowcreek Middle School in Lehi. Again her and her team danced great! They are done now until the fall. I am excited to see what competition team she will be on next season. I am also thinking of putting her in a tumbling class to help prepare her to do a solo the next year after that. I still think she is cRaZy!!! I think a tumbling class will help her become a better dancer overall plus I think she would really enjoy it.

Thanks Brent and ReNae for coming to support Peyton!

Nationals at Lagoon Dance Competition

Peyton had her last dance competition of 2010 at the Nationals at Lagoon on Saturday, May 15th. She danced great and so did her team and they took 1st place in both their dances. A great way to end their season! I think everytime I watch them they get better and better. Peyton has really enjoyed dancing on a competition team this year and we look forward to competing again next year. Thanks mom for coming to town to watch her and everything else you do for us. And thanks to Grandma Pat, Uncle Wade, Katee and Kellee for coming to chear her on and for spending the day with us. As always, we had a lot of fun!

Kids Horse Show

The Bluffdale Bronx Riding Club that Bradyn and I ride with put on a Open Kids Horse Show on Friday, May 14th at the Herriman arena to raise money for our club. Peyton wasn't sure that she wanted to ride in it this year after her experience last year (Rummy kind of ran away with her on the poles). But after she practiced the barrels and poles at our house a few times and saw that Rummy was going to behave, she was all about riding in it this year. She competed in the dummy roping, barrels, poles and the flag race and did awesome! She wasn't the fastest, but she had control of Rummy this year, rode great, and most importantly had fun. It was such a good experience for her and really helped her regain her confidence.

We had a really great turn out for the kids show. Thanks everyone who brought your kids and/or supported our fund raiser. I just did video during the horse events so didn't get any still pictures :( except of her practicing the dummy roping. Thanks mom for coming in town and helping out with the kids while we worked at the show. And thanks Grandma Pat, Uncle Wade and Katee for coming to support Peyton.

Mother's Day Program

The Friday before Mother's Day, Peyton's preschool class put on a Mother's Day Program. It was so cute! They sang songs about mothers, gave their mom's radish plants that they had grown from seeds (this is because the leaves are in the shape of hearts), and gave their mom's a card that had answers to questions about their mom. These were some the answers that Peyton gave:

* I love my mother because she reads to me! (this is true, almost every night)

* My mom looks prettiest when she put on a dress. (I don't know what she was thinking with this answer, I don't remember the last time I wore a dress)

* My mom's favorite food is cereal. (this would probably be Peyton's favorite)

* She is happy when I clean my room! (this is so true)

* My mom is 14 years old. (it would be nice to be 14 again)

* Her job is to take care of me! (and this is my favorite job)

She cracks me up!

Northridge Dance Competition

Yesterday Peyton had yet another dance competition. This was her fourth one this year. Only one more at Lagoon in May and the Spring Recital the weekend after and then we have a break. Well until next year anyways. Honestly I thought it was going to be draining but it has not been bad at all. Peyton has really liked all the competing and I have enjoyed going to watch her everytime. Yesterdays competition was at Northridge High School in Layton and Peyton and her team did awesome! I always think they do good but they looked even better than they did at the last 3 competitions and I was right. They took 1st place in both their Dog Pound and Somewhere Over The Rainbow dances. Way to go team Sweet N Sassy!

Peyton loves getting these trophies at all the competitions. She has quite the collection now.
