Carving Pumpkins

Last Thursday night we carved our pumpkins. Peyton was excited because this year she was big enough to carve her pumpkin all by herself and she did a really good job. Houston just pretty much run around, played and made a mess while we carved. He thought it was neat to go outside and light the pumpkins when we were all done though.

Picking Out Pumpkins

This last Friday I took the kids to the pumpkin patch on 11800 South 3600 West in Riverton so that they could finally pick out their pumpkins. Houston just loves being outside so he went wild running up and down the aisles and chasing the chickens around. He wasn't really sure what to think about all the pumpkins and was more concerned about picking up sticks. Peyton loved picking out pumpkins for the 4 of us and then going through the corn maze. After we picked out our pumpkins the kids thought it was neat to sit on all of the tractors.

Peyton has always had a fascination with tractors. Everytime Bradyn brings one home from work or his dads she will ride with him all day.

It is so hard to get good pictures of these 2 together

Halloween Bunco

Last night was Bunco at my house and since it is October we decided to do Halloween theme and everybody would come dressed up in costume. We always have a ton of fun at Bunco each month but this month was especially fun for me at least because we actually finished all 4 rounds instead of our usual 2. Sometimes we do a little to much talking and before we know it the night has gotten away from us and we have only made it 1/2 way through the game. I don't know what our deal was last night because we still did a ton of talking and goofing around. It was so fun to see everybody dressed up in their funny and creative costumes. Thanks everybody for coming and sorry that Tiffanie and Malissa couldn't make it but we did have fun with our subs Kathy and Hailey. Thanks for coming on short notice.

Back In The Saddle

Since the kid horse show Peyton went to this last Spring when Rummy got a little excited on the poles and ran away with her she has been a little leary about riding him or sometimes any horse. We got her right back on him after the show and she was pretty scared that he would run away with her again. Since then she has rode other horses a little but refused to ride Rummy again until this last Sunday when Bradyn saddled up Ostertag to ride and on her own said that she wanted to ride Rummy. He did have to lead her a little bit because she is still a little nervous that he is going to run. I knew that it would probably just take some time to get over her scare and I am proud of her for getting back on him. Hopefully as time goes on and with more practice she will be more confident in herself as a rider.

Gotta love those leopard sweats and yellow mud boots to ride in!

Witches' Night Out!

This last Friday night me and some of my friends went to the Witches Night Out at Gardner Village. It was so much fun to be able to hang out just us girls and leave the kids at home with the husbands. We watched the witches parade, attempted to do a little dancing, browsed through all the shops and had a yummy dinner at Archibald's after. Last year when we went we said we were going to dress up like witches this year but none of us did. We swore we are going to dress up next year so we will see. Thanks to all that went! I had a lot of fun!!!

Peyton's Big Day

For Peyton's birthday, Bradyn and I gave her 3 tickets to the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus. We wanted it to be a day where she could just spend it with mom and dad and without her brother. So we dropped off Houston at Bradyn's parents house and then took Peyton to lunch at Red Robin before the Circus started. After lunch we headed up to the Engergy Solutions Arena where the Circus was. Peyton really seemed to like it especially when the elephants, tigers, horses, zebras and dogs permformed. They had a lot of trapeze (spelling?) which she liked but got a little bored with. Overall she did well for us sitting there for almost 2 1/2 hours and think she really liked the part where she got to hang out with just mom and dad. I wasn't sure if I could take my camera in so I took some pictures with my camera phone which didn't turn out the best. Thanks Brent and ReNae for watching Houston for us so that we could spend the day with Peyton!
