Our Little Man Turns 1...

Today our little man turned 1. I cannot believe how fast time goes by. It seems like not to long ago Houston joined our family. He has been such a blessing in our lives and I cannot imagine it with out him. He has been such a good and happy baby and has been so much fun and he keeps getting even more fun. He still isn't walking but I think he is getting close. It seems like they are close to walking for so long and then just one day take off so we'll see. I guess he will walk when he is ready. Peyton didn't walk until she was 13 months old. Like Peyton too, Houston is slow at getting his teeth and still only has his 2 bottoms. But that don't slow him down when it comes to eating. He eats whatever we eat for the most part and drinks strictly out of sippy cups. I really thought it was going to be a battle taking his bottle away but it wasn't at all. I am so excited that he has been off formula for almost a month and has been off his bottle for over 2 weeks now. Here are a few pictures of Houston from the last year.

Hogle Zoo

So we have been really wanting to go to the HOGLE ZOO since we haven't been for 2 years and it has been so long since my mom has been and since she came in town this last weekend for Houston's birthday we decided to go yesterday before his birthday party. I was really worried about the weather since it seems like it has rained for 2weeks straight but it ended up being the perfect temperature for the zoo and we got out of there just in time before the rain started. Peyton really liked seeing all the animals and Houston seemed to enjoy it too especially the train. He went crazy on it!

T-Ball Is Over

So Peyton had her last t-ball game this last Wednesday. She had so much fun playing with her cousins Raylee, Preslie, Hallie and Jaycee, friend Teagan and all the new friends she made on the team. For the most part she did pretty well. She hit the ball good and could throw alright and paid attention to the game about as much as a 4 year old will. But she always looked forward to playing and especially looked forward to the treats after the game. She loves to keep busy with her activities but I think we are all looking for a little break this summer at least from t-ball and dance. She is going to summer preschool so between that and all the field trips her school goes on during the summer she will still be busy.

Our Little Cowboy

I feel like I post so much about Peyton I thought I would quickly post a little something about Houston. It's not much just that last Saturday night we went to the Herriman PRCA Rodeo. Houston's infant cowboy hat doesn't fit him any longer so Grandma Jill bought him a new one for an early birthday present so he had one to wear to the rodeo and wasn't left out because of course Peyton had to wear her cowgirl hat. He looked so dang cute I had to take a couple of pictures of him with my camera phone.

Summer Showcase Dance Recital

This last Saturday Peyton had her Summer Showcase Dance Recital at Riverton High School which was her last recital for the season. She did so good!!! I still can't get over how brave she is for dancing on stage in front of such big crowd. Bradyn's parents came to watch and even my Grandma Carolyn was able to make it in for it. After the recital we went and had a nice lunch at Red Robin and that night went to the Herriman rodeo. I don't know about Peyton but I am looking forward to a little break from dance. I didn't get any pictures of Peyton dancing because of course Bradyn was running the camera while I ran the video camera and the shots he got all came out blurry because he had it on the wrong setting. It never fails when he's running the camera something gets messed up.:)

Memorial Camping Trip

We went camping up at Red Creek over Memorial weekend with Bradyn's parents Brent & ReNae, brother Shayne, Mandy & Raylee, his uncle Ralph & Rhonda, cousins Jake, Tana, Hallie & Hazen, Kendall, Kallie & Kyler, Trevor & Katherine, Dallas, and friends Kevin, Tracey, Teagan & Kason, Brook and CJ. His other brother Hadley, Haylee, Preslie and Colter came up for the day on Saturday. We had a lot of fun even though it rained most of the day on Saturday and part of the day on Sunday. We just did the usual, ate good food, played horse shoes, shot clay pigeons, the guys and kids went fishing, rode 4-wheelers, played cards and just hung around the camp fire at night.

The funniest part of the trip was probably when Shayne caught a fish and Peyton packed it around like her own little pet even after it finally died. She was loving on it, making it talk, and packing it over her shoulder. It was really disgusting but hilarious. All the scales had rubbed off the fish and were all over her hands and clothes. As much as she loves bugs, dirt and dead fish, sometimes I think she should have been born a boy but then I see her pushing her baby dolls around in a stroller and realize that she is just a girl that is not afraid to get dirty.

Preschool Graduation 2009

Last Thursday Peyton had her second preschool graduation. One more year to go and she will finally be old enough to go to kindergarten. And after 3 years of preschool she ought to be good and ready. She is actually ready to go this year if it wasn't for her missing the deadline by 17 days. Her teacher Ms. Jaime done such a good job and Peyton absolutely loves her. The graduation turned out so cute. The students each took turns saying what their favorite thing about the school year was and then the class all sang songs to show how they learned their abc's, the sounds each letter makes and the months of the year. Then they each received a diploma and a goody bag from Ms. Jaime and after had a party with punch, cookies and fruit.
